Northern Cape: Kimberley Flying Squad members busted two men with fake festival entrance tickets

The Kimberley Flying Squad’s vigilance pinned down two men subsequent to be found in possession of fraudulent Diamonds + Dooring Jazz Festival. tickets. The suspects were arrested yesterday on Sunday,01 April 2018.

Diamonds + Dooring is an annual Jazz Festival held during the Easter weekend. However, criminals find pleasure in defrauding the organisers by selling fake tickets. This time around again they ran out of charm when we brought two suspects to book after Kimberley Flying Squad members caught them red-handed selling fraudulent tickets. In the past also more than two suspects were arrested at the same venue for selling fake tickets.

The duo were observed while they were busy selling tickets to the patrons when they were arrested.

Both suspects aged 35 and 55-year-old were found in possession fake tickets valued to over R57,000.

They will appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 03 April 2018 facing charges of forgery, fraud and uttering.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Peter Shivuri applauded the members of Kimberley Flying Squad for arresting the duo.
