Hollard signs sponsorship agreement with Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs supporters captured on camera by Gerhard Steenkamp

Kaizer Chiefs named the club’s second major sponsor on Friday after signing a deal with insurance company Hollard for the next four years.

The Absa Premiership side lost one of its main investors last year when Standard Bank announced it would not renew its contract in 2011.

The banking giant also withdrew further commitments with Chiefs’ rivals Orlando Pirates and Cricket South Africa.

Hollard now joins mobile telecommunications company Vodacom as Chiefs’ two major sponsors.

“Vodacom will be entering a co-sponsorship with Hollard as the two main sponsors,” Chiefs CEO Kaizer Motaung said on Friday.

Motaung would not disclose what the deal was worth.
