Vehicle damaged in alleged insurance fraud in Buffelsdraai

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received information last night (Saturday) of two men pushing a vehicle into a river for an alleged insurance claim.

Reaction Officers arrived at the location in Buffeldraai – KZN and found several services in attendance. When interviewed, several witnesses explained that they were seated in the dark near the Buffeldraai Landfill Site when two men arrived at a bridge.

The men debated regarding an insurance payout and eventually pushed a silver Datsun Go over the bridge and into a river at a point where no safety barrier was installed. They then left in a double cab bakkie. The information received could not be immediately verified.

The vehicle was later recovered by a tow truck company and was found with old/existing accident damage.
