Suspect nabbed with highjacked vehicle and stolen tyres

A 27-year-old man is expected to appear before the Mpumalanga Magistrates Court tomorrow on charges of carjacking and possession of stolen property.

This morning a bakkie was hijacked from a motorist on Saganga Highway in Mpumalanga. A case of carjacking was registered at Mpumalanga SAPS. Police officers with the help of the tracking company traced the vehicle and it was recovered in the Georgedale area.

A suspect was placed under arrest. During his arrest, he was also found in possession of four brand new vehicle tyres which are suspected to be stolen. The suspect will be profiled to check if he linked to other serious cases reported in Mpumalanga and surrounding areas.
