Stolen Vehicle Recovery

Seven stolen vehicles recovered by police

The Provincial Trio and Vehicle Task Team together with other role-players embarked in an operation yesterday at Mariannhill and arrested a 43-year-old suspect.

The suspect was arrested in the Oakland area after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm with two rounds of ammunition. He is appearing before the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court today.

The same team also recovered a total of seven stolen vehicles. The vehicles were recovered at different areas such as Inanda, Ngonyameni, Newlands, and other areas. The vehicles were stolen and some hijacked at different areas in Durban.

One of the recovered vehicles was used during the business robbery that was committed at Bluff on 11 May 2021, where it is alleged that three unknown males entered the business premises at Bluff. At gunpoint, they robbed the staff of three laptops and cash before fleeing the scene. All the suspects involved are still being sought by police.
