Police lends a helping hand to flood victims in Mamelodi

GAUTENG – The tragic incident of flood victims in Mamelodi about two weeks ago touched the lives of many, including a lady Constable Media Khoza, a communication official from Kwa Thema Police station in Ekurhuleni District.

She arrived at Mamelodi on Wednesday, 18 December 2019, together with her team Constable Mzwakhe Xazi from Dobsonville SAPS, Sergeant Ronny Ramara Germiston Flying Squad comprising of their Social Crime Prevention Coordinators, their local Pastor, youth desk and were directed to Baptist Church where flood victims were housed.

“I was on leave and watching TV when I saw the incident. All that came into my mind was that here am I sitting and relaxing when other people are in need,” said the Constable. “I then decided to go back to work to answer the call of duty”.

” I used my phone to arrange for clothing other goods from my colleagues and members of the community, but also with the help of local Pastor and our youth desk,” said Constable Media Khoza while addressing victims inside the church.

After handing donations, they were also introduced to two new-born babies.
