Top SA Photographer gets to capture the New Lexus NX

Undeniable talent, an intriguing way of looking at the world and her inimitable style are the qualities that make Merwelene van der Merwe’s photography not only outstanding but exceptional.

And now, the Master ‘Lensman’ has channelled her considerable skill to shoot a series of art images of the all-new Lexus.

Merwelene has honed her talent and stretched her limits throughout twenty-five years as a photographer in a range of disciplines from fashion to advertising.

Car photography is somewhat of a departure for Merwelene who’s passion is people, but in the case of the visually arresting Lexus NX, she was more than a match for the challenge.

“The fact that the NX was cloaked in that gorgeous, on-trend, ‘it’ colour Marsala (actually Morello Red), really helped it to pop off the canvas.

“There’s also a sensuality to this car that makes it the perfect photographic subject.

“It exudes an energy, an attitude, that’s often lacking in inanimate objects.

“I have to say that this is one corporate commission that has truly allowed me to express my creativity in an unusual way,” says Ms M.
