Arrest made after Hydroponic LAB is discovered in Roodepoort for dagga plant cultivation

Members from the Roodepoort SAPS K9 Unit and the JMPD Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 48 year-old man from Roodepoort yesterday evening for cultivating, dealing and the possession of dagga and dagga plants. The arrest came after information was received and followed up which led them to the residential property in Roodepoort.

The property was a highly sophisticated and organised operation with rooms being used for the various stages of the dagga plant cultivation and growing operation.  The dagga that was produced at this hydroponic lab was of high quality.

The arrested male is believed to be part of a syndicate and more arrests are imminent. The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 23 May 2014.
